TESGuessr is a GeoGuessr game for The Elder Scrolls. Instead of Street View, you get over 73,000 panoramas taken inside The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: city streets, canton walkways, ash wastes, Ayleid ruins, Colovian highlands and the shores of the Topal Bay. If you've ever known exactly where you were from the shape of a hill or the colour of the rocks, this is your game.

Two games, one Tamriel

Sadrith Mora
Morrowind
over 52,000 places: Vvardenfell, Solstheim, the Tamriel Rebuilt mainland and Project Cyrodiil.
Bruma
Oblivion
over 21,000 places: the Imperial City, the walled cities, and the roads and wilds of Cyrodiil.

How to play

Each game is five rounds. You wake up at a place in the game's world: look around, and with Moving on, follow the arrows down roads, through towns and over the hills. When you think you know where you are, drop a pin on the map. The closer the pin, the more points: up to 5,000 a round, 25,000 a game.

Make it harder with the settings: No move keeps you where you land, NMPZ (no moving, panning or zooming) gives you one fixed view, a timer of one to three minutes hurries you, and the hard difficulty (Nerevarine in Morrowind, Hero of Kvatch in Oblivion) starts you anywhere at all, deep wilderness included, where the easy one (N'wah, or Beggar) starts you on a road, in a town or at a landmark.

Finished a game? Share it as a challenge link: your friends play the same five places and see the score to beat.

Every day

New challenges at midnight UTC, the same for everyone: a ranked daily for each game (five places, one go, a leaderboard), two face quizzes, "Have you seen this s'wit?" for Morrowind's characters and "Have you seen this citizen?" for Cyrodiil's, and the Arena, where the games' fighters meet on a shared schedule. Keep your streak going. More about the daily games.

Questions

Is TESGuessr free?
Yes. It plays in the browser on a computer or a phone, free, with no sign-up. Signing in is optional: it saves your name, septims and history so you can carry them between devices.
Do I need Morrowind or Oblivion installed?
No. Every place is a panorama taken in the game's world and served to your browser; you only need to know your way around Tamriel.
How are the panoramas made?
In the games' engines, from the games' own data: Morrowind in OpenMW with Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Cyrodiil for the mainland, Oblivion's Cyrodiil drawn the same way. Thousands of camera stops along the roads, through the towns and out into the wilds, each a full 360-degree view.
Is it the same as GeoGuessr?
It plays the same way: look around, move along the roads, guess on the map, score by distance, with the familiar Moving, No move and NMPZ rules. It is a separate fan game set in The Elder Scrolls, not affiliated with GeoGuessr.
Can I play with friends?
Yes: after a game, share it as a challenge link. Everyone who opens it plays the same five places, and sees the score to beat. The ranked dailies put everyone on the same five places too, with a leaderboard.
